Fall Regional Meetings Underway

October 28, 2024 – ISBA's Fall Regional Meetings for school board members begin today in Lafayette and will conclude November 14 in Jasper.

ISBA Executive Director Terry Spradlin will provide a preview of the 2025 Indiana General Assembly budget session and share ISBA's legislative priorities, and ISBA General Counsel Lisa Tanselle will discuss recent court cases. The meetings start at 6:00 p.m. local time.

The schedule of 10 meetings is as follows:

• October 28, Region 4, The Stables, Lafayette
• October 29, Region 1, Teibel's, Schererville
• October 30, Region 2, Swan Lake Resort, Plymouth
• November 4, Region 3, Ceruti's Summit Park, Fort Wayne
• November 6, Region 5, Bel Air Events, Kokomo
• November 7, Region 7, The Inn at DePauw, Greencastle
• November 11, Region 10, The Pines, Seymour
• November 12, Region 8, Primo Banquet Center, Indianapolis
• November 13, Region 6, Willie and Red's, Hagerstown
• November 14, Region 9, Klubhaus 61, Jasper

ISBA’s school funding priorities as approved by the Delegate Assembly for the 2025 budget session include:

• Tuition support increases at rates above inflation
• $10 million annual increase in the Indiana Secured Schools Safety Grant
• $10 million annual increase in Summer School funding
• $5 million annual increase in English Language Learner funding
• Grant funding for school corporations to spend on student support services
