Enacted during the 2025 session of the Indiana General Assembly, Senate Enrolled Act 366 (SEA 366) reduced superintendent qualifications and contract requirements. Previously, superintendents without a teacher’s license were required to hold a master’s degree; as a result of SEA 366, a master's degree is no longer required but is merely preferred. Additionally, SEA 366 eliminated the requirement that superintendents be employed using a regular teacher’s contract.
