The Indiana School Boards Association (ISBA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Derek Morgan to the newly created position of Assistant Director of Board Services. He comes to ISBA after several years with the State of Indiana’s Department of Workforce Development, where he served as Training Coordinator for the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program. He designed and delivered onboarding and training for hundreds of JAG staff serving school corporations across the state. He currently serves as a school board member for Spencer-Owen Community Schools. His dedication to excellence in school board governance has earned him the ISBA Region 7 Outstanding Board Member of the Year award, the ISBA Gold Seal Leadership Certification, and the ISBA Exemplary Governance Award. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education – Social Studies and is also a former JAG Specialist at Vincennes University. He serves on the Owen County Arts Commission and the Owen County Redevelopment Commission.
